You get $100. So do I.
Starlink pays both of us, as cash or service credit, when you order through my referral link and stay two months. Same price either way.
Look for the green $100 banner on Starlink's page, then finish your order in that same tab. How the $100 works
T-Mobile 5G Home Internet costs $50 to $70 a month with AutoPay and includes the gateway; Starlink Residential starts at $55 to $130 a month, with hardware cost depending on your address. T-Mobile prices checked on t-mobile.com on 9 October 2026, Starlink's on starlink.com on 6 October 2026.
I run Starlink at my house in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. I have not used T-Mobile Home Internet, so everything here about T-Mobile comes from T-Mobile's own plans page, linked below.

Sources: T-Mobile's Home Internet plans page (9 October 2026) and Starlink's Residential page (6 October 2026). T-Mobile also lists a $15 discount when you add a voice line, plus rotating sign-up promotions. Starlink says prices vary by address and account. My full breakdown of Starlink's plans is on how much Starlink costs.
The difference that matters more than price
T-Mobile Home Internet runs on the cellular network. It's sold address by address where T-Mobile has spare capacity, and how well it works depends on your signal and how many people share the tower. I go into why cellular home internet is built for coverage rather than capacity on my why rural internet is hard page.
Starlink runs on satellites. It doesn't care where the nearest tower is, but it needs a clear view of the sky. Trees or a roofline in the wrong place are the one thing you can't fix with a phone call. My setup notes cover how I checked mine.
Where T-Mobile wins on paper
- Equipment included. T-Mobile lists no monthly equipment fees and the gateway included. Starlink's hardware cost depends on your address.
- Lower entry price. $50 a month with AutoPay versus Starlink's $55 starting price, before taxes and fees.
- Indoor setup. T-Mobile describes a 15-minute self-install of a gateway. Starlink needs a dish outside with open sky.
- Price guarantee. T-Mobile advertises a 5-Year Price Guarantee, with exclusions.
Where Starlink wins
- It works where the towers don't. If T-Mobile isn't offered at your address, or the signal is weak, the comparison is over.
- Longer trial. 30 days with a full refund, against T-Mobile's 15-day test drive.
- My own experience. 100 Mbps down and 15 up measured on 26 September 2026, and it has stayed up through Chesapeake Bay storms. That's one house, not a promise for yours.
How I'd decide
Check T-Mobile's availability at your address first. If it's offered and your phone gets a strong T-Mobile signal at home, its 15-day test drive is a cheap way to find out. If it isn't offered, or the signal is marginal, Starlink is probably the option that actually works, and its 30-day trial covers you while you find out. If fiber reaches you, take that instead of either; I explain why on "Don't buy Starlink if…".
Common questions
What people ask me about this
Is Starlink or T-Mobile Home Internet cheaper?
T-Mobile's listed prices are lower at the entry level and include the gateway: $50 a month for Rely with an AutoPay discount ($60 without), plus taxes and fees, checked on t-mobile.com on 9 October 2026. Starlink's Residential plans start at $55, $85 and $130 a month (starlink.com, 6 October 2026), and hardware cost depends on your address.
Which is better for a rural address, Starlink or T-Mobile?
It depends on what reaches your address. T-Mobile Home Internet needs a strong enough 5G signal and is only sold where T-Mobile has capacity. Starlink needs a clear view of the sky. If T-Mobile is offered at your address with good signal, try it; if it isn't, or the signal is weak, Starlink is usually the option that is actually available.
Is there a Starlink promo code or discount?
There is no Starlink coupon code — Starlink does not issue them, and any site advertising one is guessing. The only standing discount is the referral program: order through someone's referral link and you and the person who referred you each get $100 in the US, as cash or service credit. There is no code to type at checkout; the link does it, and Starlink shows a green banner confirming the $100 when the page opens. Mine is https://starlink.com?referral=RC-586189-74623-26 — the price is identical either way. You pay your first month as normal, and the $100 is issued once you have been subscribed for two months.
Can I try both before committing?
Yes. T-Mobile lists a 15-day test drive with your money back, and Starlink offers a 30-day trial with a full refund, according to each company's own site in October 2026.
Have you used T-Mobile Home Internet yourself?
No. I've had Xfinity cable and now Starlink at my house in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. Everything on this page about T-Mobile comes from T-Mobile's own plans page, not from my experience.
If Starlink is the one that reaches you
Check your address on Starlink's site first. Ordering through my link gets you $100, as cash or service credit — and I get the same.
Look for the green $100 banner when Starlink's page opens — that confirms the code took. You pay month one as normal; the $100 is issued once you have been subscribed for two months. Finish your order in the same tab — the referral can be lost if you close it and come back later. Here's the full timeline.
