You get $100. So do I.
Starlink pays both of us, as cash or service credit, when you order through my referral link and stay two months. Same price either way.
Look for the green $100 banner on Starlink's page, then finish your order in that same tab. How the $100 works
Order Starlink through a referral link and you get $100, and so does the person who sent you. You pay the first month as normal. The $100 is issued once you have been subscribed for two months, as soon as 60 days after activation. It comes as service credit by default, or as cash if you set that up.
What changed
Until early October 2026, the referral gave a new customer one free month of service, credited on the second invoice, and nothing appeared when you clicked the link. Starlink rewrote the program. Here is the before and after.
| Before (to early Oct 2026) | Now | |
|---|---|---|
| New customer gets | One month of service free | $100, cash or service credit |
| Referrer gets | A separate referral reward | The same $100 |
| When | Credited on the second invoice | After two months of service, as soon as 60 days after activation |
| On the link | Nothing shown | A green banner confirming $100 each |
What $100 is worth on each plan
A free month used to be worth whatever your plan cost. A flat $100 isn't. Using the "service starting at" prices I read on starlink.com on 6 October 2026, which vary by address:
| Plan | Monthly price | $100 covers about |
|---|---|---|
| Residential 100 Mbps | $55 | 1.8 months |
| Residential 200 Mbps | $85 | 1.2 months |
| Residential Max | $130 | 0.8 months |
So on the two cheaper plans the new offer is better than the old free month, and on Residential Max it is a little worse. On every plan, you can now take it as cash.
Cash or service credit
By default the $100 is service credit, applied to your account and deducted from your next invoice. In the US you can take cash instead. Starlink pays cash through Stripe:
- On starlink.com in a web browser, not the app, go to Referrals → Reward Method and choose Cash.
- Sign in to or create a Stripe account, verify your identity, and link your bank account.
- If it still says "Finish onboarding", the setup isn't complete and cash can't be paid. Without Stripe, it comes as service credit.
The choice is locked when the amount pays out, so set it up before your two months are up. Your choice doesn't change mine, and mine doesn't change yours.
What you'll see when you open the link
Open a referral link and Starlink's page shows a green banner saying you and your friend will each get $100, cash or service credit. That is your confirmation the code is attached. There is still no promo code to type and no discount at checkout.
Two things that hide or lose it:
- You're signed in to an existing Starlink account. Existing and returning customers aren't eligible, so the banner doesn't appear. I checked this on my own account. Use a private window to see what a new customer sees.
- You close the tab. The code is stored in that browser tab, not a long-lived cookie. Finish the order in the same tab, or come back through the link and check the banner is there before you order.

What I get
The same $100 you do. Starlink pays both sides the same amount, and the price you pay is identical whether you use my link, someone else's, or none. Without a referral link there is no $100 at all, so if you're signing up anyway, using one costs nothing.
Checked on 1 November 2026 against Starlink's support page Does Starlink have a referral program? and the banner starlink.com shows when the link is opened. Starlink can change these terms at any time; its page is the authority, not this one. The full step-by-step timeline is here.
Common questions
What people ask me about the new offer
Is the Starlink referral still a free month?
No. Starlink replaced the free month in early October 2026. A new customer who orders through a referral link now gets $100 in the US, as cash or service credit, and the person who referred them gets the same $100.
How much is the Starlink referral bonus?
$100 in the US, for both the new customer and the referrer. Starlink says the amount depends on the country the new customer signs up in and is shown in your account.
Can I take the Starlink referral $100 as cash?
Yes, in the US. It defaults to service credit deducted from your next invoice. For cash, Starlink pays through Stripe: go to Referrals, then Reward Method, on starlink.com in a web browser rather than the app, choose Cash and finish the Stripe setup. The choice is locked when the amount is paid out.
When is the Starlink referral $100 paid?
After the new customer has been subscribed for two months. Starlink says it is issued as soon as 60 days after activation, depending on country, settings and an identity check. You pay the first month as normal.
Why don't I see the $100 banner on Starlink's site?
The green banner appears when a new customer opens a referral link. If you are signed in to an existing Starlink account you will not see it, because existing and returning customers are not eligible. Open the link in a private window to see what a new customer sees.
Is there a Starlink promo code or discount?
There is no Starlink coupon code — Starlink does not issue them, and any site advertising one is guessing. The only standing discount is the referral program: order through someone's referral link and you and the person who referred you each get $100 in the US, as cash or service credit. There is no code to type at checkout; the link does it, and Starlink shows a green banner confirming the $100 when the page opens. Mine is https://starlink.com?referral=RC-586189-74623-26 — the price is identical either way. You pay your first month as normal, and the $100 is issued once you have been subscribed for two months.
Not a customer yet?
Check your address on Starlink's site. Ordering through my link gets you $100, as cash or service credit — and I get the same.
Look for the green $100 banner when Starlink's page opens — that confirms the code took. You pay month one as normal; the $100 is issued once you have been subscribed for two months. Finish your order in the same tab — the referral can be lost if you close it and come back later. Here's the full timeline.
