Look for the green $100 banner on Starlink's page, then finish your order in that same tab. How the $100 works

On the FCC National Broadband Map, 99.05% of Dunkirk's homes have wired or other land-based internet of at least 100 Mbps reported, and 62.6% (723 homes) have gigabit (1,000/100 Mbps) reported. That is the FCC's data as of 31 December 2025, which I read on 30 October 2026.

I don't live in Dunkirk. I'm in Chesapeake Beach, on Starlink. Everything below about Dunkirk comes from the FCC's Area Summary for Dunkirk, not from my own testing. The FCC maps Dunkirk as a "place" with a drawn boundary, and these figures cover only the homes inside it.

Coverage by speed

This is the FCC's fixed broadband view for residential service with the "All Terrestrial" technology filter, so it leaves satellite out. It counts a home as covered if at least one provider reports it can serve that speed there.

Speed (down/up)Residential units covered
0.2/0.2 Mbps (any service)99.39%
100/20 Mbps99.05% (about 1,100 units)
250/25 Mbps94.98%
1,000/100 Mbps62.6% (723 units)

So nearly every home in Dunkirk has something fast and wired reported, and a little under two in three can get gigabit. The FCC rounds the total to "1.1K units". A small share, under 1%, had no land-based service reported at all.

Who reports serving Dunkirk

The FCC's Top 10 Providers chart for Dunkirk lists seven. The FCC notes that only the residential filter applies to this chart, so it covers every technology and speed, satellite included.

Provider (as the FCC names it)Residential units served
EchoStar Corporation (HughesNet)100%
Viasat, Inc.100%
Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (Starlink)100%
Comcast Corporation (Xfinity)94.98%
T-Mobile USA, Inc.83.72% (967 units)
Verizon Communications Inc.61.73% (713 units)
AT&T Inc.30.82% (356 units)

Source: FCC National Broadband Map, Area Summary, Dunkirk, MD, Residential, data as of 31 December 2025 (last updated 19 October 2026), read 30 October 2026. The chart doesn't say which technology each provider uses at each address. For that, look up your own address on the map.

Compared with North Beach on the same map, Verizon reports far more of Dunkirk (61.73% against 8.74%) and AT&T far less (30.82% against 68.06%), and Comcast covers slightly less of it.

What the map can't tell you

These are providers' own reports of where they say they can serve. A provider listed for your address may still need a site visit, a line run or a clear view of the sky. And "available" is not the same as "good". My house in Chesapeake Beach had Xfinity cable, and for me it was terrible, which is why I switched to Starlink.

Not tested by meI haven't used any service at a Dunkirk address, so I can't tell you how these providers perform there. If you live there, ask a neighbor what they actually get in the evening.

Where Starlink fits in Dunkirk

With wired service reported at almost every address, most people in Dunkirk don't need satellite. It makes sense if you're in the small share with no wired option, or if the wired choices at your address have let you down, the way cable did for me. On Starlink's Residential plan, roof-mounted and self-installed, I measured 100 Mbps down and 15 up on 26 September 2026, and it has stayed up through Bay storms. If your lot is wooded, read my obstructions guide before ordering. My Calvert County page covers the wider county.

Common questions

What people ask me about this

What internet is available in Dunkirk, Maryland?

On the FCC National Broadband Map (data as of December 31, 2025), wired or other land-based service of at least 100 Mbps down and 20 up is reported for 99.05% of Dunkirk's residential units, and 1,000/100 Mbps for 62.6% (723 units). EchoStar, Viasat and SpaceX each report 100%, Comcast 94.98%, T-Mobile 83.72%, Verizon 61.73% and AT&T 30.82%.

Is gigabit internet available in Dunkirk, MD?

At most addresses, not all. The FCC map shows 1,000 Mbps down and 100 up reported for 62.6% of Dunkirk's residential units, 723 of them, as of December 31, 2025. The rest had nothing that fast reported. Check your own address on the map.

Is there a Starlink promo code or discount?

There is no Starlink coupon code — Starlink does not issue them, and any site advertising one is guessing. The only standing discount is the referral program: order through someone's referral link and you and the person who referred you each get $100 in the US, as cash or service credit. There is no code to type at checkout; the link does it, and Starlink shows a green banner confirming the $100 when the page opens. Mine is https://starlink.com?referral=RC-586189-74623-26 — the price is identical either way. You pay your first month as normal, and the $100 is issued once you have been subscribed for two months.

Does Starlink cover Dunkirk?

SpaceX reports Starlink service to 100% of Dunkirk's residential units on the FCC map, data as of December 31, 2025. That is a coverage claim, not a promise about your lot: trees still decide how well a dish works. Starlink's own site checks your address before you order.

Do you live in Dunkirk?

No. I live in Chesapeake Beach, also in Calvert County, where I run Starlink's Residential plan. The Dunkirk figures on this page come from the FCC National Broadband Map, read on 30 October 2026, not from my own testing.

Ordering Starlink?

Check your Dunkirk address on Starlink's site first; it confirms availability before you order. Ordering through my link gets you $100, as cash or service credit, on eligible plans — and I get the same.

Look for the green $100 banner when Starlink's page opens — that confirms the code took. You pay month one as normal; the $100 is issued once you have been subscribed for two months. Finish your order in the same tab — the referral can be lost if you close it and come back later. Here's the full timeline.
